Big Meals for the Rockstar in You

Denny's started a new, late night "Rock Star" menu in 2008, which features a range of meals available between the hours of 10pm and 5am.

Many rockbands have signed on to create their own, personalized signature item. Envy on the Coast plans to check out a few Denny's restaurants after their shows with Anberlin and Taking Back Sunday. TBS happens to have their own meal at Denny's, called the "Taking Back Sunday Melty Grilled Chicken and Sausage Quesadilla."

Other bands with Rockstar menu items are Hoobastank, Boys Like Girls, and Katy Perry.

Good (M)orning)

Mae may be down to 3 permanent members, but their tours, records, and music keep coming.

Mae left Capitol records in 2008 after less than impressive record sales from their 3rd album, Singularity. Many fans were disappointed in the band's detour from piano/indie rock to radio/mainstream music.

Mae has released an 8 song EP titled "(m)orning" which is available only on their current spring tour.

Mae plans to release two more albums in 2009 with Cell Records, called (a)fternoon and (e)vening, and every month in 2009, Mae will release a new song.

Their new songs are available online for minimum donation of $1 each (with proceeds going towards a humanitarian project) and they are streaming free on their website.

Blink is Back

Photo taken from the band's MySpace.

After a dramatic breakup, a reality television show, 2 hugely less successful bands, and a plane crash that nearly killed one of its members, Blink 182 has reformed to give their starving, die-hard fans a reason to jump up and down and pump their fists once again.

Blink 182 reigned the pop punk charts and the hearts of teenaged music lovers throughout the nineties and early 21st century. After announcing their comeback at the MTV Music Awards in February of 2009, online message boards and forums filled with posts questioning tour dates, supporting bands, and their new album.

Now that the summer touring season is quickly drawing nearer, Blink has redesigned their website and finally released their touring schedule along with the touring bands. They plan to tour till the beginning of October.

The Best of Baltimore

In April 2008, Rolling Stone Magazine named Baltimore as the city with the "Best Scene." Along with nationally known art museums and schools and stand-out dining spots, Baltimore continues to emerge as a popular, hip, and ever-growing city for music.

With large stages like Ram's Head Live and Sonar, to smaller venues such as The 8x10 and Charm City Art Space, music is never few and far between. This blog will aim to keep its readers up-to-date on shows at many venues throughout Baltimore, as well as touring bands' schedules.

Local band as well as national acts will be covered, and I will provide interviews and quotes from some of Baltimore's finest musicians and talent. General reviews of concerts and shows will also be posted.
